2010年8月初旬。赤坂のアメリカ大使館にVISA申請に行きました。
子供は郵送で申請出来ますが、手間なのですべて一気に申請したく家族全員で行きました。
溜池山王駅に着くなり、上の子が「トイレ行きたい！」と言い出し慌てて近くの高級ホテルに侵入。用を足していざ大使館！というものの予約時間などさておき長蛇の列。。。
５０人くらいがセキュリティチェックの前に書類を片手に並んでいました。
「こ、これはしんどい。。。」
しかも進みは異常なほど遅く、５分で１－２人くらい。セキュリティチェックのために１時間は並びそうでした。しかしここで嫁がファインプレイ。
「あ、あの看板！」
よく見ると、妊婦・子連れ・ハンディキャップは前へと書いてありました。
というわけで、前のほうにいる警備員さんに割り込んでいいか聞いてみると「いいですよ。この男性の後ろに入ってください。」と奇跡の４５人ゴボウ抜き。
並んでる皆様すみませんでした。。
いろいろ手荷物を預けてセキュリティチェックに入ると、空港のように手荷物検査＋アレ。
前後の人たちは手荷物の中にハサミやらが入っていたらしく、全部出すように言われていました。
うちらは完全ドスルー。ケイタイだけ預けて、子供用の飲み物とお菓子はＯＫでした。
セキュリティチェックを抜けて、大使館内へ。
入り口で書類をチェックされました。レターパック４枚人数分持ってきたのに、３つ突っ返されました。（そう書いておいて欲しい。。）
さらに、DS-2019に記載しなかったPlaceの欄に「山梨と書いてください。」と。
チェックが完了したら入り口から中へ。６０人くらい待っています。
１番の窓口に行き、クリアファイルごと書類を渡すと「おまちくださーい」と日本語。
ひたすら待つこと３０分。子供早くも限界突破。遊び始める。。
いすに腰掛けると、目の前に芸能人発見。美川憲一さん。ちょっとついてる気がしました。
ああだこうだで指紋採取に呼ばれて、速攻完了してまたまた着席。
上の子供がだーだー言い始めて、ジュース買ってあげたのも束の間騒ぎ始める。
しまいに、係りの人にうるさくてアナウンスが聞こえないので静かにと怒られる。。
椅子に座って窓口に呼ばれる人を見ていると様々。
ビジネスマンらしき人は２－３問答して紙を渡されてすぐに完了しています。
一方学生らしき人は、長い人もいたり、速攻終わっている人もいました。
外国人が呼ばれていて、もめたあげく小声でson of the bitchと言っていたのが印象的でした。
そうして待つこと一時間。やっとこさ７番窓口に日本語で呼ばれる。

I[Yeah]
How are you today?
I[Um, I'm fine thank you] （子供の面倒で疲れとるわ！）
Are you going to visit Madison?
I[Yeah]
Have you been there?
I[Yes.Only one time]
What are you going to do in Madison?
I[I'll join consortium in Wisconsin University as in invitation researcher.]
Um..OK. The VISA will be shipped a few days. You will get it in 1week.
紙を渡されて。 I[Thank you]
この間30秒。
そして申請完了。
帰り際にセキュリティチェックで荷物を受け取りさっさと帰宅しました。
その時もセキュリティチェックにはくるときと同じくらいの列が出来ていました。
The beginning of Aug.2010. My family went to apply VISA procedure at American Embassy.
Although kid's didn't need to take an interview, we want to get our VISA at the same time because it's so convenient.
When we arrived at Tameikesanoh sta., older sister said "I'm almost peeing!" so we were surprised and looking for a bathroom around there. We rushed into so luxurious hotel and we had done. Anyway, we aim to go Embassy. And then there were already made an long line even though we had appointment.
About 50 people made a line in front of security gate.
I[What's a mess...]
In addition, how digest the line is absolutely slow. It maybe 1-2 person in 5min. We have to wait around 1hour to pass gate. However, my wife has found notice sign.
Wife[Have a look! That sign!]
The sign said [Pregnant, nursing and handicaps are other line](Maybe this is not correct sentence) As a result, we asked to officer that can we enter this gate shortly?
Officer[OK. Make a line after this person.]
What a wonderful deal!
We left belongings at security gate and we have to pass inspection gate.
Other people were front and rear of us were said that to get rid of sizzlers from bags by officer. In our turn, there is no error. We just have left cell phone but a drink and snacks for kid are OK.
Into Embassy after passed security gate. Documents were evaluated by officer at entrance of embassy. I ready each letter-pack but the remains should be returned.
Also, I wrote down the place in DS-2019.
As the evaluation was finished, I was able to enter embassy. The waiting people were about 60. We went to the counter No.1 and then I hand out documents to her. She said [Just a minute. Please sit there.]
We wait to be called for 30min. Our kid's exceeded them patience, they began to play around.. When I sat on the chair, I found celebrity. I felt lucky.
We called counter and memorised finger print. Also kid's started to be tomboy again although we fed a juice to them.
Finally, the officer scolded us [Please be quite people can't hear the announce.]
So, we have waited for over 1hour. Finally our name was announced at No.7.

I[Um, I'm fine thank you] (Honestly, I'm tired to deal with kid's!)

Um..OK. The VISA will be shipped a few days. You will get it in 1week.
The interview finished for 30sec. I got belongings when we return to home.
Anyway, VISA procedure is not convenient!
